Oh Baby, Baby It's a Wild World....
(Exhibit 1: Yes. It wasn't just a dream)
(Exhibit 2: My first Taxi)
(Exhibit 3: Me. Alive and in complete Tourism Mood. And of course, I would never take a picture of myself in the mirror.)
Well, I am here and I am alive. Too much has happened in the last 24 hours for it to be condensed to a thirty second trailer and if I began by telling what happened today I would more than likely never tell you what happened yesterday. So, what I am going to do is I am going to split up each time frame/the events that happened into their own separate post. And as a preview it will probably look something like this:
1) The trip and the people I met and spi--watched (I had several encounters of the personal kind which are very important that I include).
2) My first impressions of London the English people and Claridge's Hotel.
3) Journeying alone: A day-trip around London, biped style (I will give one hint though: National Gallery, Turner Paintings).
4) Thoughts on Music and Egotism and how it relates to traveling and writing a blog.
So, all that is coming up (hopefully all by tomorrow night) and for now go ahead and peruse a few of the photo's I have taken (up to arriving at the hotel):

Hey Dave - we really like being woken up by the GB Immigration Officer at 2am - really we do. What lengths some people will go to not to have to call home:-) Love ya'...really
Hmm...should I call your dad to hear this story..?? ; ) I'm glad you are alive. Finding that out pretty much made my day. The last supper jokes had me a little uneasy. = ) I am sure you are having a wonderful time. Can't wait to hear more about it.
With love,
Caroline
I guess I'll be seeing ya in Cahir, Misr. That will be crazy! I'm leaving today, thurday at 5 pm and should arvive between 5 and 6 am tomorrow in Cairo. I'm going to try to read my Arabic phrasebook on the way so I might be able to guess how much we get ripped off everywhere. Anyway, I'll have to post after the trip, because right now I have no idea what to expect. I just hope someone will watch my bird so he doesn't get lonely.
London's Commandment 1: Find and eat the shortbread cookies until you feel your veins tighten and strain under the butter. The Keebler elves still haven't made better.
2: Fish and chips. Obviously.
3. Steak and ale pie.
4. Crown Jewels.
5. Tower of London.
6. Talk to the beefeaters. Ask how much they get per hour for wearing the funning capes.
7. Insult a Royal Guard's mother. Be creative- regulations state they can't even change their facial expression. I'm serious.
8. Enjoy the overcast skies and occasional rain.
9. Any chance of going to Oxford? I want you to steal a priceless old volume from its mind-blowingly magnificent library. For me? Please?
I'm enjoying this vicariously.
now you're quoting cat stevens ... sheesh for good music. =p
And it was a good mirror picture, nonetheless.
don't forget the man who was thursday ...
[the pictures are
oh-so-marvelous]
^^ that was me. i'm still trying to figure out how to work this thing. rachel & rob are [obviously] more talented. figures.
